What is Abiraterone Acetate Powder?

Abiraterone Acetate Powder CAS 154229-18-2 is a white to white, non-hygroscopic, crystalline powder. Its molecular formula is C26H33NO2and it has a molecular weight of 391.55.

It is known as chemical name 17-(3-pyridyl)-5,16-androstadien-3beta-acetate and brand name zytiga, is the precursor drug of abitrone and the drug targeting the androgen receptor signal pathway. Abitrone is a highly selective and powerful inhibitor of cytochrome oxidase CYP17. Its inhibition is irreversible and 10-30 times stronger than ketoconazole. It is is used in combination with prednisone for the treatment of castrated patients with refractory prostate cancer who have previously received docetaxel containing chemotherapy.

Abiraterone acetate is mainly used in combination with prednisone for the treatment of patients after receiving chemotherapy containing docetaxel

1. Metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (CRPC)

2. Castration sensitive prostate cancer patients (CSPC) with high risk of metastasis.
